Urban Matter is a home accessories & gift boutique featuring local makers & artisans, curated treasures and hand made goods. You can always find the following independently made goods at Urban Matter: jewelry, soap, pottery, leather and canvas bags and totes, small press cards, cutting boards, socks, lotion, beard oil and accessories, candles, dish towels & cologne. We also offer barware, local honey, coffee as well as hats and scarves.
History
Established in 2014.
Urban Matter opened in Sept 2014 in a 107 year old south St Louis storefront. True to it's original design, the owners of Urban Matter lived upstairs from their shop. Urban Matter began in 2014 as a 500 sq ft space showcasing home accessories. In 2019, Urban Matter moved to 3179 S Grand in the South Grand Business District. Keeping with our history, the new store is in a historic building with businesses at street level and apartments above. Urban Matter showcases the work of numerous independent makers from all over the world and of course, the St Louis region. We have curated a impressive array of made by hand goods.
